Position Overview

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

As a manager in our Infrastructure and Shared Services Organization, you will lead a team of DevOps engineers who are passionate, committed, and excited to solve our most complex infrastructure service problems. You will bring your people management and technical decision making skills to bear developing teams who are working with new technologies and developing new capabilities to help build our products and services faster, with higher quality results. You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering tactical and strategic plans which improve outcomes for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead a high-performing team in managing and scaling our Data Center Virtualization Compute infrastructure and Public Cloud Operations. You'll focus on enhancing automation, reliability, and efficiency across our Virtual  infrastructure including Kuberentes, VMware, Openstack and Cloud operation excellence.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure excellence in service levels and platform performance. Drive the design, development, and deployment of software solutions that enhance our infrastructure capabilities, focusing on scalability, reliability, observability and system efficiency.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and nurture a team of skilled DevOps and security engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering stakeholders to align on roadmaps, strategies, goals, manage expectations, and deliver on strategic priorities. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Innovation & Efficiency: Implement cutting-edge automation best practices, compute platform engineering, and observability tools. Lead projects to automate processes, self-service, improve system observability, and ensure repeatability in operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Experience in recruiting and building a high performing team
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with coding experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go)
  • Experience with modern infrastructure and delivery system such as:
    • CI/CD practices(e.g., Declarative infrastructure, GitOps, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, Terraform, Ansible, AWX, KubeSpray)
  • Compute Platform (e.g., Kubernetes, VMWare, OpenStack), docker technology
  • Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Enterprise, Logstash)
  • Experience of managing the core infrastructure of public cloud, such as AWS, Azure, GCP and running Cloud governance at scale
    • Familiarity with Public Cloud services, such as AWS EKS, Transit Gateway, VPC, Azure AKS, vNet, Azure Manage Group
  • 5+ years of experience with technical leadership and People management

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in problem-solving and analyzing distributed systems
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux systems, IP networking, performance, and application issues
  • Experience in delivering large-scale projects and running production level infrastructure systems
  • Proficiency in software design and experience managing on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
